ASH WEDNESDAY - We will have our customary twin services on Ash Wednesday. For those who desire and are able to come at 6:00 a.m., we will have our abbreviated service enabling you to bear the mark of Ashes as you go about your day. The larger community will gather at 7:30 p.m. for our traditional Ash Wednesday worship with the expanded time of confession and the imposition of ashes.


COOKIE MAKING SERVICE PROJECT - Today after second service, kids of all ages are invited to participate in a cookie making project for our local firefighters. Meet at Corinne Light’s house, 1122 Pioneer Dr. Lunch will be provided, we will cut out, decorate, pack up and deliver cookies to the three local fire stations around Pecan Grove. Pick up your kids around 3:00. If you need rides contact Mary Budd, 713-922-5439, or Denyse Bray 832-274-7118.


MIDWEEK LENTEN VESPERS & SOUP SUPPER - Begins on Wed. Feb. 21st at 6:00 p.m. with the soup supper before the mid-week worship service at 7:30 p.m. We ask that you bring the soup in crock pots this year since our kitchen is not yet fully functional. A signup sheet will be in the Narthex. Please contact Paula Curry for more info!


NALC LENTEN DEVOTIONAL BOOKLETS -  “From Ashes to Easter”, are available in the Narthex for individuals to take home.


FAMILY LENTEN ACTIVITIES -  Be sure to pick up the family Lenten devotions from the Narthex. There is a cool coloring book for younger youth and a calendar for older youth. We always order extras if you would like to give to grandchildren, friends, etc.


HOLY LAND TRIP - Time is running out! Please get your deposit in as soon as you are able. Travel dates will be April 13-26, 2018. The cost from Houston is $4300 per person. Brochures are available in the office. The tour is limited to 40-persons. Join us for the experience of a lifetime in the Holy Land ¾ the 5th Gospel!!!


ROSEHILL SENIOR LIVING - is looking for someone interested in leading a bible study with the residents at Rosehill (next to La Cocina). If you are interested, please call Samantha at 281-232-3214


MEN’S BIBLE STUDY - Men's Bible Study will start Thursday March 1st at 7:30 in the gathering place. The topic is 1&2 Peter and will last for 10 weeks.


WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY - We are studying the Book of Romans with special emphasis on Luther's writings on Romans. We will meet at 7:00p this week and take a break for Lent and resume after Easter.


BE ALERT & PLAN AHEAD - Over the next month or so, and especially over the weekends, the intersection of Highway 90 and FM 359 is being affected by the ongoing construction of the railroad flyover. At various times, the ability to make either right or left turns may be blocked. Allow extra time if Hwy 90 is your primary route to and from Joy and consider alternative routes.


WELCOME FOLDERS - Please be sure and sign the welcome folders every week, this helps us to keep accurate attendance records!


FLOWER CHART - The 2018 Flower Chart has been posted on the bulletin board in the Narthex. Be sure to specify the celebration/Memorial you would like to acknowledge in the Toolkit.


HELPING HANDS - at this time HH is in need of: canned & dry soup; dry beans, dry pasta, all canned goods, & single serve items.
