IT’S THE PITS ANNUAL DINNER AND AUCTION - Will be held at the American Legion Hall, Hwy 36 South in Rosenberg this Saturday, Sept. 23rd. Doors open at 5p. Dinner 6-7:30p. Raffle tickets: $10.00. Dinner Tickets: $25.00. Plan to be present and be generous as we raise monies for at-risk youth and wounded veterans.


ADULT CHRISTIAN ED — A new 5-week class will be offered during the month of October. In commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, Vicar Logan will be leading discussions over 5 not to be missed early Lutheran Reformation documents. No book purchases will be necessary; readings will be provided by email. This class will meet in the Nave, 9:30 am, starting October 1.


BIBLE PRESENTATION - Parents of children who have not received Bibles are invited to come during the Sunday School hour today in the Gathering Place to personalize a Bible for your child. Corinne will have all the supplies. We will present these Bibles to your child during our Bible Milestone Celebration on Sept. 24th. NALC DISASTER RESPONSE - Peace Lutheran Church in Rosenberg is our area donation/staging/distribution location. If you are in need of assistance or would like to volunteer, please contact Larry Mikeska, 281-794-9121, or the church office. You may also call Pr. Mike Giese at 832-361-9720 or mrgiese1990@gmail.com. Monetary donations may be made to Joy and we will forward, or you may send directly to the NALC Disaster Response, New Brighton, MN 55112.


FORT BEND FAMILY PROMISE - Joy will provide meals to homeless families at FBFP the week of Oct. 1st – 8th. If you are unable to prepare a meal, monetary donations are accepted. Contact Shirley Morris at 281-277-4232. Make check payable to FBFP.


500TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE REFORMATION - During the Sundays of October, we will be experiencing some variation in both the order and language of our worship. In celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, our worship will be structured by the Evangelical Lutheran Hymnal, ©1908, an early English hymnal, used by the late Pr. G.C. “Doc” Heffelfinger, Pr. Tim’s Pastor as a young boy. In remembering the historical worship that nurtured our ancestors, we pray that both our present and future worship with be enriched and our horizons broadened with insight and knowledge of God’s mighty hand at work in His people over the course of time.


JOYFUL WOMEN FALL BIBLE STUDY -is reading and studying the book of Job on Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm.  All Joyful women are welcome.MEN’S BIBLE STUDY ¾ meets on Thursdays, at 7:30 pm in The Gathering Place. Discussion topic is 1 Peter 3:15 and The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel.


HOLY LAND TRIP - led by Pastors Bassam Abdallah and Christ is planned. Travel dates will be April 13-26, 2018. The cost from Houston is $4300 per person. Brochures are available from Beth. The tour is limited to 40-persons. Join us for the experience of a lifetime in the Holy Land ¾ the 5th Gospel!!!


SOCIETY OF THE HOLY TRINITY - The annual General Retreat of the Society will be held in Mundelein, Ill., Sept. 26-28 (Tue-Thur). Pr. Tim and Vicar Logan will be attending.


HELPING HANDS - needs canned soup (any kind), dry beans; peanut butter, Jellies (regular size), single serve fruit cups
